Laundry:
There is a laundry located right beside the Sapphire Village
office and is only steps away from our unit. You must buy
tokens at the office to operate the equipment. The office
is open between 9:00am and 4:00pm (Monday through Friday).
Telephone:
The telephone number in the unit is (340) 715-2151. Your friends
and family can reach you at this number. The phone is set
up for free local calls only. A calling card must be used
for all calls outside of the Virgin Islands.
Food / Shopping:
Within walking distance (1/2 mile) there are several shops
and the Marina Market in the town of Red Hook. If you have
a car, there is ample shopping at the Tutu Park Mall in the
center of the island on Route 38 (about 3 miles west of Sapphire
Village). Just further west of Tutu (another 1/2 mile) on
Route 38 is a Cost-U-Less, which has a large selection of
foods and goods at discount prices (and this is the cheapest
place to buy liquor and beer on the island).
Smoking:
When using our unit, we request that guests refrain from smoking
inside. Smoking is permitted on the front patio.
Parking Permits:
The Sapphire Village Condo Association requires that all guests
obtain a parking permit. This can be obtained at the Sapphire
Village office between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. (Monday through
Friday).
Sapphire Village Office:
The office and staff represents the condo owners association
and is responsible for upkeep of the resort and grounds (external
to the individual units). They can take care of any problems
that arise on the grounds of the resort. The office is NOT
involved with the rental of individual condo units and is
not authorized to distribute keys to renters. “Don’t
expect the office to know anything about your rental.”
Getting Around:
The Virgin Islands Taxi Association can provide transportation
to and from the Cyril E. King Airport. This will cost about
$25.00 per person and $2.00 for each bag. Or you can rent
a car at the airport; which is supported by all the major
rental car companies (Avis, Hertz and Budget). There is also
a Budget Rent-A-Car desk located in the lobby of the adjacent
Sapphire Beach Resort. NOTE, you can get the best rate on
a car from one of these same 3 companies when booking through
www.HotWire.com
but the reservation needs to be paid for in advance (ie.,
when booking).
After
you get to the resort; if you don’t want or need a
car, then you can catch a local safari bus (taxi) at the
entrance to Sapphire Village for $1.00 to go to Red Hook
or even all around the island (the buses pass by about every
15 minutes or so).
There is a passenger ferry dock located in Red Hook where
you can take a day trip to St. John (the trip costs $5.00
per person, each way). The ferry runs every hour on the
hour from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. and returns from St. John
on a similar time schedule. There are also car ferries that
cost about $45 RT, which includes the fee for passengers
(this is most cost effective if you have several people
and you want to explore St. John – eliminates the
cost of taxis / safari buses). For more adventure, if you
have interest in visiting any of the BVIs, such as Tortola
or Virgin Gorda, you can also catch a ferry at Red Hook.
See www.VINow.com
for schedules and fees.

to handle issues that arise within the units unless it is
an emergency.
